DiamondGlow resurfaces your skin with a diamond tip and infuses a SkinMedica serum in the same step. There is no downtime, and you can go back to your day as soon as you leave. Curious how it compares to HydraFacial? Read about DiamondGlow.

Pre-care
Before your DiamondGlow
1 week before
- Skip waxing, threading, and hair removal creams on your face.
- Avoid tanning and sunburn, and wear SPF every day.
3 days before
- Stop retinoids (retinol, tretinoin, Retin-A) and exfoliating acids (glycolic, salicylic, AHA, BHA).
The day before
- Shaving is fine. Do it the day before, not the morning of your appointment.
The day of your DiamondGlow
- If you have a sunburn, broken skin, or an active cold sore, call us to reschedule.
- Getting Botox or filler at the same visit? We do your DiamondGlow first.
Please tell us
- If you have taken Accutane in the last 6 months, or if you are pregnant or nursing.
- About any medications you take. Do not stop any prescribed medication unless your prescribing healthcare provider tells you it is safe to do so.
- If you had Botox or filler in the last 2 weeks. Your DiamondGlow should wait until those 2 weeks have passed.
Post-care
After your treatment
What to expect
- A pink glow that usually fades within a few hours.
- Your skin may feel a little more sensitive than usual for 1 to 3 days.
- Light flaking can show up a day or two later. Let it shed on its own and do not pick at it.
For the first 24 hours
- Wash your hands with soap and water for 60 seconds before you wash your face or apply any products.
- Give your skin the rest of the day off from makeup so the serum can soak in. If you need coverage, a light mineral powder is the gentlest choice.
- No workouts, saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga. You can get back to your workouts after 24 hours.
- Sleep on a fresh pillowcase the night of your treatment.
For 48 hours
- No retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, or at-home peels.
- No waxing on your face.
- Stay out of strong sun as much as you can.
Keeping your glow
- Wear SPF 30 or higher every morning. We like Alastin HydraTint and Revision Intellishade.
- DiamondGlow can be repeated as often as every 2 weeks. Most clients come back about every 4 weeks, and your esthetician will suggest the right schedule for your skin.
Had SkinVive with your DiamondGlow?
Follow your SkinVive aftercare as well. The big ones: do not ice the area unless your provider tells you to, and avoid anti-inflammatory pain relievers such as Advil (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen).
Call us if you notice
- Broken skin, blistering, or crusting
- A rash, hives, or redness that lasts more than 48 hours
- Signs of infection: increasing pain, warmth, pus, or fever
