What Is SkinVive?
SkinVive by Juvederm is an injectable skin booster from Allergan. It's a smooth hyaluronic acid gel with a little lidocaine for comfort, placed as tiny microdroplets just under the surface of your skin. Hyaluronic acid holds onto water, so it hydrates your skin from within.
In 2023, SkinVive became the first hyaluronic acid microdroplet injection approved by the FDA to improve skin smoothness of the cheeks in adults over 21. It doesn't add volume or lift; it improves the quality of your skin.

What to Expect at Your SkinVive Appointment
Your visit starts with a quick conversation about your skin and your goals. Your skin is cleansed, numbing cream can be applied, and your injector places a series of tiny injections across your cheeks. The gel itself contains lidocaine, so most clients feel quick pinches more than pain.
You'll see small bumps at the injection points at first. They usually settle within a day or two, along with any redness or swelling, so most clients head right back to their day. Your skin keeps improving over the next few weeks, with the best results at about 2 to 4 weeks.

Don't massage or rub the area unless your injector tells you to
Swelling and bruising are normal and usually fade within a week
Avoid anti-inflammatories like Advil and Aleve; Tylenol is fine
