Skinpen Pre & Post Care Instructions with Your Alastin Post Care
PRE TREATMENT:
• Please refrain from any chemical exfoliators (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, retinols, retinoids) a few days prior to treatment.
• Please do not have any active tan or artificial tanners on the skin.
• Please refrain from any blood thinning medications (if approved by your physician or ordering provider) and alcohol consumption 48 hours prior.
• Slight swelling can occur due to your bodies histamine response. You may choose to take an anti-histamine (Claritin, Zyrtec) an hour prior to treatment to minimize potential swelling.
• Let us know if you have any history of cold sores so we can prophylactically treat you with Valtrex (antiviral).
POST TREATMENT:
IMMEDIATELY AFTER - DAY 1
• Mild to moderate redness is expected and may last 1-3 hours.
• Please keep the skin protected from the sun as much as you can.
• Please refrain from prolonged sun exposure and try to stay indoors.
• Stay hydrated.
THE NIGHT OF TREATMENT
• Wash very gently with Ultra Calm Cleansing Cream and lukewarm water. Do not scrub.
• Apply Skin Nectar followed by Ultra Light Moisturizer.
• Sleep with a clean pillow case.
THE MORNING AFTER - DAY 2 - DAY 7
• Take an anti-histamine at bed time for 5 days Benadryl, Claritin, Zyrtec to minimize any potential swelling and itchiness you may feel during the healing process.
• Wash very gently with Ultra Calm Cleansing Cream and lukewarm water. Do not scrub.
• Apply Skin Nectar followed by Ultra Light Moisturizer. Follow with a generous amount of SilkShield SPF.
• Be gentle to all treated areas. Do not scratch/pick/scrub at the skin.
• Change your pillow case every 2-3 days.
FOR 72 HOURS PLEASE REFRAIN FROM:
• Exercise or any sweat inducing activities.
• Hot showers.
• Saunas.
• Makeup in the treated area(s).
FOR 1 WEEK PLEASE:
• Be gentle to all treated areas. Do not scratch/pick/scrub at the skin.
• Avoid chemical and physical exfoliators.
• Avoid any active topical skincare (like Vitamin C).
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure.
• Reapply SPF every 2 hours.
