Moxi Pre & Post Care Instructions with Your Alastin Procedure Kit
PRE TREATMENT:
• Please refrain from any chemical exfoliators (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, retinols, retinoids) a few days prior to treatment.
• Please refrain from any blood thinning medications (if approved by your physician or ordering provider) and alcohol consumption 48 hours prior.
• If you have a history of cold sores we must prophylactically treat you with an anti-viral medication prior to and after treatment.
FOR 72 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT PLEASE REFRAIN FROM:
• Exercise or any sweat inducing activities (like saunas and workouts).
• Hot showers.
POST TREATMENT:
IMMEDIATELY AFTER - DAY 1
• Your skin will have a heat sensation that is similar to an intense sunburn for about 1-2 hours. This is a normal and expected response.
• Mild to moderate redness and slight swelling is also expected.
• Once your heat has subsided please apply Alastin Skin Nectar followed by Alastin Ultra Light Moisturizer that is included in your post procedure kit.
• Please keep the skin protected by wearing a hat when outdoors. Avoid peak sun hours (10am–2pm). Please refrain from prolonged sun exposure and try to stay indoors the rest of the day.
THE NIGHT OF TREATMENT - DAY 1
• Apply Skin Nectar followed by Ultra Light Moisturizer.
• It is recommended to take an antihistamine prior to bed to minimize swelling that may occur overnight. You can take antihistamines for up to 5 days after treatment if swelling persists.
• If you are prone to swelling – you may wish to sleep with your head propped up slightly to minimize swelling.
THE MORNING AFTER - DAY 2 THROUGH DAY 7
• Don’t be alarmed if you wake up swollen! This is normal and severity of swelling varies from person to person. The swelling will continue to reduce throughout the day. Stay hydrated!
• Gently wash your face with Alastin Ultra Calm Cleansing Cream and lukewarm water. Do not scrub.
• Apply Alastin Skin Nectar, Ultra Light Moisturizer and SilkShield Sunscreen. Not wearing SPF especially during the healing process could cause adverse hyper/hypopigmentation and scarring. Please apply liberally.
• Please refrain from makeup for 24 hours after your treatment.
• Follow these steps for a week. Do not pick/rub or scrub at the skin (no matter how badly you want to!)
ONCE FULLY HEALED FROM YOUR TREATMENT WE RECOMMEND:
• DAY 10 and after: Using a skin brightener and retinol additionally prevent and clear any pigmentation concerns. Apply Revision C+ Correcting Complex in the morning and DEJ Night Face Cream (or any retinol) is recommended at night.
• Using an SPF liberally (two pumps) with a minimum of 30 every day, especially when driving. It’s important to protect your investment. We highly recommend Alastin Hydratint or Revision Intellishade SPF’s.
• If your provider recommends additional treatments, please book your next session 4-6 weeks apart from eachother.
